More than 20 pounds of marijuana uncovered in Mason City drug bust

Mason City, Iowa – Over 20 pounds of marijuana has been uncovered in Mason City after law enforcement executed a search warrant.

The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on January 30th at home in the 1000 blcok of 12th street northwest, according to the Mason City Globe Gazette.

22-year-old Shavaughtna Carter, 21-year-old Michael Dennis Payton and 22-year-old Maranda Joe Baseman all of Mason City have been charged with several drug offenses with intent to deliver.

Carter possessed 2.6 pounds of marijuana and 6 pounds of edibles while Payton possessed nine pounds of edibles and Basemen had 90 edibles.  Authorities uncovered other drug paraphernalia at the scene.

It’s unclear how much marijuana and edibles were found in total.
