
Charles City, Iowa Mother nature has plans to strike again.
This time, it’s not the cold or the wind, but the one-two punch is snow and ice.
The National Weather Service is forecasting 1-3 inches of snow Thursday on top of one to two tenths of an inch of ice. A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain arrives late this afternoon. The precipitation will turn to snow during the morning commute with the heaviest band accumulating around mid-day.
The Thursday morning commute will be impacted as surfaces will be ice-covered and slick.
A winter weather advisory is scheduled to go in to affect today at 3 until Thursday evening at 6.
