Hazardous weather conditions ahead as snow, ice expected

Charles City, Iowa Mother nature has plans to strike again.

This time, it’s not the cold or the wind, but the one-two punch is snow and ice.

The National Weather Service is forecasting 1-3 inches of snow Thursday on top of one to two tenths of an inch of ice.  A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain arrives late this afternoon.  The precipitation will turn to snow during the morning commute with the heaviest band accumulating around mid-day.

The Thursday morning commute will be impacted as surfaces will be ice-covered and slick.

A winter weather advisory is scheduled to go in to affect today at 3 until Thursday evening at 6.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
