Charges filed in assault case of Winneshiek High School students

Decorah, Iowa – Charges have been filed on five South Winneshiek students in connection with two separate incidents.

According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s office, 18-year-old Braxton Miller of Cedar Falls is charged in adult court with aggravated assault with intent to commit sexual assault.  Four other minors were referred to juvenile court.  Due to privacy laws, details pertaining to the juveniles aren’t being released.

On January 15, the sheriff’s office began investigating two instances of assault involving South Winneshiek students.  One occurred at the high school while the other happened near Fort Atkinson.

Prosecution of the case is being  handled by the Allamakee County Attorney’s office.
