City to revamp and add more signage to locate landmarks

Charles City, Iowa – It’s been a decade in the making for America’s Hometown for new signage showing drivers where municipal buildings are.

City Administrator Steve Diers says it’s called ‘The Way Finding Project.”

The project includes replacing the four entrance signs, an informational kiosk by Central Park and public parking lot signs.

The city planned to bid it out in phases, but it came back affordable.

Diers says it will be completed this building season.

The council still has to approve the signs and bids at their next council meeting.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
