The Score Sheet: UNI/ISU wretstling dual sold out, Hawkeye women face road tests

The West Gym in Cedar Falls is sold out for Thursday night’s wrestling dual between 11th ranked Iowa State and 17th ranked Northern Iowa. Cyclone coach Kevin Dresser says the Panthers will be motivated.

Dresser says it will be an electric atmosphere.

UNI has won the last two duals in the series, including 31-7 a year ago. Panther coach Doug Schwab.

Eight of Iowa State’s 10 wrestlers are nationally ranked. UNI has six ranked.

A win over Maryland has put the 10th ranked Iowa women in the driver’s seat for the Big Ten regular season title. The road for coach Lisa Bluder’s team is not easy. The Hawkeyes play the next two away from home, including tonight’s (Thursday night’s) visit to Indiana.

Bluder says the Hawkeyes have a chance to earn a championship and validate their national ranking.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
