Chili cook-off stirs up new theme, same good ole chili

Charles City, Iowa – Friday marks the 23rd annual Great Chili Cook off in Charles City.

Chamber Director Mark Wix says it’s Community Revitalization’s longest running event.

This year’s chosen chili chefs represent the automotive industry.  Some celebrities include Steve Robel from Quality Auto Service and Jason Daniels from Daniels Auto Collision Center.

Tickets are $8 and it includes samples of seven chilies, a beverage and dessert provided by the Comet Café.  Proceeds go to Community Revitalization.

Wix says they’ve seen just about everything in the two-plus decades.

The cook off is from 11 to 1 Friday at the Columbus club.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
