Clarksville’s Dollar General making progress, moving city hall

Clarksville, Iowa – With the Dollar General store in the making, Clarksville’s town hall will have to move, again.

Mayor Val Swinton explains Dollar General owns three lots where city hall trailer sits.

Swinton didn’t specify a timetable when City Hall will make its move, but the two will have the close on the purchase of the three properties.

Despite the lack of physical progress, he says the store is farther along than most people think.

Depending on the weather, the demolition could be wrapped up in two months.

Swinton says there’s still excitement in the air calling it ‘pent up demand.’
