New Hampton Lion’s Club continues long tradition of pancake feed this Sunday

New Hampton, Iowa – A tradition that’s four decades in the making and it’s as simple as flipping flap jacks.

The tradition continues Sunday with the New Hampton Lion’s pancake feed.

Jim Goorman says it’s the club’s main fundraiser and the proceeds are poured back into the community.

In its 46th year, the event will be without one of the main organizers, Jim Soenen who died unexpectedly on February 21 at 65.

Gorman tells North Iowa News Soenen emulated what a Lion’s member should be and the club needs more like him.

The pancake feed will be at the New Hampton gym on Sunday.  Serving is from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Tickets are $8 from a Lion’s Club member or $8.50 at the door.  Children 12 and under are a free will donation.
