The Score Sheet: Cyclones slide continues, Carelton named POY and McCaffery travels to Wisconsin

It went from bad to worse for Iowa State at West Virginia. The Cyclones fell behind by 21 at halftime in a 90-75 loss, their fourth loss in five games.

That’s ISU coach Steve Prohm.

A team that a few weeks ago looked poised to make a run at the Big-12 title is now 9-8 in conference play.

The Cyclones fall to 20-10 overall heading into their regular season finale against Texas Tech.

Lindell Wigginton led the Cyclones with 17 points and Tyrese Haliburton added 12.

Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton has been named the Big-12 player of the year. Todd Kimm reports.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery will travel to Madison with his team but won’t coach the Hawkeyes on Thursday night against Wisconsin. It is the second of a two game suspension for McCaffery who will be involved in the pre-game prep but won’t go to the Kohl Center.

McCaffery will work with his team until they leave for the Kohl Center.

McCaffery watched Saturday’s loss to Rutgers from his office.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
