Alta Vista, Iowa -The Iowa Court of Appeals has upheld the termination of Cheyenne Harris’ parental right to her daughter on Wednesday.

The daughter, who was two at the time, was removed from the family’s home before the death of 4-month-old Sterling Koehn.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the state sought termination of Harris’s rights after her, her partner Zachary Koehn and their daughter had tested positive for methamphetamine in July.  The juvenile court terminated both parents’ rights.

Harris and Koehn were found guilty of first-degree murder and child endangerment causing death in February and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
