The Score Sheet: Wisconsin bounces Iowa, ISU and Iowa women prepare for tournaments

Twenty-first ranked Wisconsin bounced the Iowa Hawkeye men 65-45. Nichols Baer anchored the Hawks with only six points.  The Badger’s Ethan Happ finished with a game-high 21 points and 14 rebounds.  Iowa finishes the regular season on Saturday at Nebraska.

The Iowa Hawkeye women open the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis Friday night against Indiana. The Hawkeyes are the two seed and coach Lisa Bluder likes the way her team prepared.

Bluder says the Hawkeyes have plenty to play for.

Bluder says her players are not thinking about seeding for the NCAA Tournament,

Indiana beat Minnesota 66-58 Thursday night. It was a loss to the Hoosiers that cost the Hawkeyes a share of the Big Ten title.

The Iowa State women open the Big-12 tournament in Oklahoma City on Saturday. The Cyclones are the two seed and open against the winner of Friday night’s game between Oklahoma State and Kansas.

That’s Cyclone senior Bridget Carleton, who was named the Big-12 Player of the Year this week. A good week should solidify their seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
