St. Patrick’s Day activities set, police urging caution with celebrations

Charles City, Iowa – St. Patrick’s Day festivities are set in Charles City for Sunday, including the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

To kick off the event, the parade’s creator John Morris selects a Miss Shamrock.  The royalty this year goes to Stacey Finnegan.

Finnegan will be leading the parade with Morris and Dean Andrews beginning at 5:30 near the City Tap.  The festivities will travel down Main street an commence near the Pub on the Cedar.

While its normal to have fun, don’t go overboard on Sunday according to Charles City Police Chief Hugh Anderson.

Should you not make the decision to have a sober driver, there are major consequences.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
