Library to host class on bees for enthusiasts, beginners

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Library welcomes all beekeepers and honey enthusiasts Thursday night at 6 pm to learn more about bees and what to do around them.

The two-hour class will provide an overview and an introduction into beekeeping.

Library director Annette Dean tells North Iowa News the area has beekeepers and is right fit for anyone.

The two-hour informative class is designed as an overview and introduction to beekeeping. Master beekeeper Ed St. John, director of the Iowa Honey Producers Organization, will guide the class. He’s managed colonies since 2012 and is a certified beekeeper.

Dean says the class is designed for enthusiasts and beginners alike.

The free class is in the Zastrow Meeting room Thursday night at 6 pm.  Contact the library with questions.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
