One of Charles City’s main street staples closing doors

Charles City, Iowa – Main Street’s iconic menswear clothing store, Lidd and Cordray, is closing its doors.

Owner Mike Lidd:

The store is having a retirement sale.  It opens to the public on Thursday and Friday from 9-8, 9-4 Saturday and 11-3 on Sunday.  Hours return to normal until the entire inventory is sold.

Lidd says his career in retail has been his life.

Lidd is a former long-distance runner who completed seven marathons and 12 half-marathons, also while being an avid bike rider.

He and his wife Peggy are looking forward to spending time with their daughter, son-in-law and grandson who live in Minneapolis and daughter who lives in Duluth, according to Lidd.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
