USDA announces emergency CRP grazing due to severe weather

Des Moines, Iowa – Due to recent weather challenges, the USDA announced Wednesday, Iowa producers can have emergency grazing on conservation Reserve Program or CRP acres.

Participation is limited to livestock producers who lost pasture or fences due to flooding.

CRP Participants can allow others to use their CRP acres under the authorization, according to the USDA.

The emergency program is approved until May 14.

Livestock owners will need to complete FSA paperwork indicating their grazing land has been impacted by severe weather.
