Ambulance Council legal fees still remain unpaid, questions remain

New Hampton, Iowa – No decision has been made by the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors to pay an outstanding bill on behalf of the county’s ambulance council.

Chairmen Jacob Hackman said at Monday’s meeting he’s unsure if the council had a contract with the Prichard Law firm.

The bill is nearly $1,000 for services from January to March to draw up a request for proposal for new ambulance services starting July 1.

Hackman says he’s hesitant in paying the bill because of the lack of documentation the council has produced.

Supervisor Steve Geerts was not at the meeting, he chairs the ambulance council.  The board asked County Attorney Jennifer Schwickerath if she would use her budget to foot the bill, but she said no.  The item is tabled to next week.
