Charles City makes tree trimming change official

Charles City, Iowa – Charles City’s expanded version of the tree trimming ordinance is official after members approved it Monday night.

City Administrator Steve Diers says the change allows property owners to trim their trees themselves.

Diers added this would be done under city supervision.

There could be as many as 3,000 trees breaking city code of 14 feet street side clearance and eight feet sidewalk clearance.

The council has previously approved the city to mass trim the trees for $150,000 during the early summer months.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
