Osage announces new middle school principal

Osage, Iowa – The Osage school district named Sarah Leichsenring to be the next middle school principal.

Superintendent Barb Schwamman says Leichsenring brings nine years of education and a fresh perspective to the post.

In her 9th year of education, Leichsenring worked as the curriculum director for Osage and Riceville Community Schools.  She’s had stops at Central Lee, Donnellson, Mason City and Forest City.

Schwamman tells North Iowa News her previous experience made her a well-rounded candidate.

Leichsenring earned her Master’s of Education from Southwest Minnesota State University and will complete an Advanced Students Certificate from the University of North Iowa in Education Leadership this May.

Schwamman added the school brought four finalists in to interview in front of a wide array of district stake holders.

Leichsenring replaces Jay Marley who resigned in March.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
