Workshop coming between ambulance council, supervisors

New Hampton, Iowa – Fredricksburg Mayor Shain Kroenecke says there’s still no agreement for an ambulance service in Chickasaw County.

Members opened one request for proposal Tuesday night at Chickasaw Ambulance Council meeting.

The lone bid came from Jeremy McGrath’s Chickasaw County Ambulance Service.

According to Kroenecke, the previous contract totaled $50,000 per year.  This contract is worth $30,000 per month or a $360,000 per year.

He says the bid is higher than expected.

The ambulance council has no budget and taxing authority.  Their responsibility is to make a recommendation to the supervisors.

Kroenecke says their hands are tied.

He added there is a workshop meeting between the ambulance council and the board of supervisors Tuesday night at the Chickasaw Events Center.

Kroenecke didn’t specify a time because details of the meeting are pending.
