Charles City woman arrested in NC, accused of tossing Molotov cocktail in hotel parking lot

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – A local woman is in custody after allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail in a parking lot of a Myrtle Beach hotel on Saturday.

WBTW-TV reports 34-year-old Ashley Rae Konen of Charles City and 32-year-old Jonathon Scott Jordan of Mechanicsville, were arrested near Charlottesville, North Carolina and are awaiting extradition to South Carolina on charges of arson and use of an incendiary device.

Surveillance video show the couple returning to the hotel parking lot and lighting the Molotov cocktail on fire and then tossing it out the vehicle’s  window.  A witness said this happened after an altercation over $20.00.

Police report the Molotov cocktail wasn’t thrown at anyone and left no damage.
