MiEnergy Cooperative members give $5,250 locally

Cresco, Iowa – MiEnergy Cooperatives ‘Operation Round-up’ generates $10,000 annually for local organizations.  This giveaway is over $5,250.

The campaign is made funded by donations made by MiEnergy Cooperative members who voluntarily have their electric bill rounded up to the next dollar, according to a release form the company.

Fifteen organizations throughout Northeast Iowa and Southern Minnesota received tax deductible donations.   Riceville’s Wan Tan Ye cashes in on $400 for removing trees which threaten a one room school house.

A trust board with eight members chose where funds get donated based on an application process.

MiEnergy says 1,800 members participating with the average donation $6.
