New Hampton man guilty of sexual abuse

New Hampton, Iowa – A New Hampton man has been found guilty of sexual abuse charges by jury Tuesday morning.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office says David Edward Williams was found guilty of first degree sexual abuse and third degree sexual abuse and incest.

The Iowa Department of Human Services reports abuse took place between 2015 and 2016 against a 12-13 year-old female while Williams lived in rural Chickasaw County.

William’s sentencing is set for May 28, 2019.  First degree sexual abuse carries a mandatory life in prison sentence without parole.  Third degree sexual abuse carries up to a 10-year prison sentence and incest is up to five years behind bars.
