Power Surge Takes Out Service to Charles City’s US Cellular Customers

Charles City, Iowa – A power surge that struck a cell phone tower in Charles City early Wednesday morning has resulted in limited or no connectivity for some US Cellular customers.

That’s Julie Bock with Charles City Electronics, a US Cellular authorized agent who said the outage is only affecting customers in Charles City.

Bock provides a helpful tip should you require data services during the outage.

There’s been no official word on what caused the power surge, how much damage was sustained or when service might be restored. North Iowa News will continue to keep you updated on the situation.
