Chickasaw girls golf claims fifth straight conference title

Iowa baseball enters top 25 and ISU running backs looking to fill role

The New Hampton Chickasaw girls golf team continued its unprecedented run this season.

The Chickasaws claimed their fifth straight NEIC title and shot a school-record 328.  They took the top three spots at the meet.

For the first time since 2015 the Iowa baseball team is nationally ranked.

Todd Kimm reports.

It could be running back by committee for Iowa State next season. David Montgomery is now a Chicago Bear after finishing third in the Big-12 in rushing at just over 101 yards per game. Senior Sheldon Croney is the most veteran  member of the running back room after seeing limited action a year ago.

Croney says it is a close group.

Offensive coordinator Tom Manning likes the potential of the running backs.

Junior Kene Nwangu  is another veteran at running back. He was an All Big-12 kick returner a year ago.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
