Charles City man arrested, one fled from scene after chase through town

Police apprehend one suspect while warrant being filed for the driver

Charles City, Iowa – One person has been arrested while another remains at large after an early morning chase through Charles City on Sunday.

The Charles City Police Department says an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop at Blunt Street and North Main Street just before 1:30.  The vehicle fled from officers on South Main Street and pulled into a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 600 block of 11th street.

After a foot chase, officers apprehended 23-year-old Robert Coffer of Charles City and charged him with interference with official acts according to police records.

A warrant has been requested for the driver who was able to flee from the vehicle.
