
New Hampton, Iowa – Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain fall poured nearly six inches of rain in Chickasaw and Winneshiek Counties Saturday night in less than three hours.
Copious amounts of precipitation left parts of New Hampton inundated. East Main Street and Pleasant Hill Avenue along with Foley and Randall Park were closed off due to flooding.
In an interview with North Iowa News Saturday night, Emergency Management Director Jeff Bernatz said resources were available for residents.
Businesses such as Schueth Ace Hardware opened for residents to get supplies.
Damage amounts have been been released.
