Tyler Mitchell starts new post as Charles City Parks and Rec Director

Charles City, Iowa – Charles City’s new parks and recreation director starts today and he’s no stranger to the town or agriculture.

Tyler Mitchell is taking over for the soon-to-be retired Steve Lindaman.

Mitchell is a 2011 Charles City High School alumn and then graduated in 2015 from Iowa State.  Before taking the post, Mitchell worked at the ISU research farm in Nashua.

His background he says is a perfect pair for the new gig.

He grew up on a farm near Charles City showing cattle and being heavily involved in the livestock industry, just another piece Mitchell finds advantageous to his new post.

He says he’s been transitioning into the director’s spot by Shadowing Lindaman.

Mitchell added he’s already received phone calls about the new job.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
