Alta Vista’s 125 birthday celebration features event-packed weekend

Alta Vista, Iowa – The theme is small but mighty and when you try to fit 125 years into three days, that pretty much sums up Alta Vista’s anniversary celebration.

Irene Franzen is one of the event’s organizers and says they will feature everything from music to great food and fireworks along with a parade.

The entertainment is free the entire weekend.

Franzen told North Iowa News one of the unique opportunities during the three-day celebration is how you can learn more about the town’s history.

She added the Carnegie Cultural Center in New Hampton has a temporary exhibit about Alta Vista’s history, which is different than the one in the town.

Franzen says if you need more information there’s a website and contact person.

Memorabilia commemorating the 125th anniversary is also for sale.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
