FFA Member: Destruction left by tornado is ‘unbelievable’

Charles City FFA members pitch in and begin cleaning up

Charles City, Iowa – Clean up continues in Floyd County after the EF1 twister struck the Floyd County Ag Center Monday afternoon.

Charles City FFA member Alex Staudt says the destruction something he’s never seen before.

FFA members pitched in for three hours Tuesday afternoon picking up tin and other building materials that were tossed about in fields and trees from the Ag Center.

Staudt says he volunteered because of his background.

Another member Bronson Forsyth recalled the similarities in helping after this natural disaster and the service learning trip he went on to Nebraska in April.

Kevin Stewart is the site manager for the Ag Center and is a former FFA member.

He says he’s appreciative of help.

Damage totals from the storm haven’t been released.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
