Charles City’s new waste water treatment site holds unique twist

Charles City, Iowa – As the public hearing date approaches with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and engineer with the Charles City waste water treatment plant, City Administrator Steve Diers says the property for the plant comes with a unique twist.

The city doesn’t want dig up and waste them, according to Diers who says they could be for sale.

He added the city is working on a plan and strategy on how to best distribute the threes.

The plant is known as the water resource reclamation facility. It’s public hearing is set for June 17 where the Iowa DNR and other officials will discuss the environmental impact of the facility.

Diers says the plant is beneficial.
