Floyd County Law Enforcement Center project moving along, still in design stages

Charles City, Iowa – Floyd County’s 12 million dollar law enforcement project continues in its early stages designing, discussing and evaluating room designs and utilities.

Supervisor Linda Tjaden says data sheets, an itemized list of what goes in each rooms, have been discussed by the departments.

The project is in the early stages of faze one with the data sheets helping to build a base package.

The goal is to release the base package, according to Tjaden.  It includes excavation details and utility relocation but doesn’t consist of any construction.

She says the utilities are the biggest piece to it.

Tjaden added another piece to moving forward is the city’s conveyance of land.

She’s hoping next week data sheets are complete.
