Charles City transit to extend contract for one year

Charles City, Iowa – After last year’s last minute agreement to extend Charles City transit services with Circle K Communications, city and company officials are expected sign a contract for another year.
Mayor Dean Andrews says last year’s service has been beneficial.
Circle K asked for a $12,000 increase in their contract according to Andrews. In July of last year city officials estimated the cost of the transit service to be at least $100,000, but Andrews says despite the cost a service is needed.
He says over the last year, transit services have grown.
The council is scheduled to take action on the contract tonight. Andrews added Circle K officials are hesitant of sighing on for three years.
