FCMC Foundation hits new milestone after recent donation

Charles City, Iowa – The Floyd County Medical Center Foundation fund reached a new milestone recently with a $10,000 donation from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.

The gift has allowed the hospital’s endowment fund to eclipse $100,000 for the first time in its two year existence.

Sue Baker who works at FCMC also is one of the volunteers who helps facilitate funding for it.

The fund’s goal is to help secure and maintain the future of the hospital and local healthcare according to administrator Rod Nordeng.

He says community donations and employment payroll help invest in the hospital’s future.

The fund started in October of 2017 and donations have been collected since.  The hospital is allowed four percent of the overall balance each year.

Nordeng says they invested in obstetrics equipment the first year with goals of improving technology, equipment and supplies.

Nordeng added he appreciates the community’s support of the hospital and local healthcare.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
