Mother Nature packing heat, severe storms in the area

Charles City, Iowa – Heavy rain, wind and heat are plaguing Northeast Iowa this weekend.  Yesterday Mother Nature brought one to two inches of rainfall, flooding and damaging winds.

Today, She brings the year’s first heat spell according to meteorologist Dave Lawrence at the National Weather Service in La Cross, WI.

Lawrence says the weather pattern is changing and we are feeling the effects of mild temperatures jumping into extreme heat.

Our hot temperatures will be accompanied by rain chances through the end of next week.

Lawrence told North Iowa News Friday morning, the biggest chance for rain is Sunday.

Next week rain chances are small according to Lawrence who says they can’t rule out a small chance for storms.
