Charles City preparing for Kid’s Day to kick off weekend celebrations

Charles City, Iowa – The yearly celebration of Fourth of July in Charles City kicks off with Kid’s Day tomorrow morning.

Day-long activities sponsored by McDonalds starts at 9:30 with registration in Central Park according to marketing manager Emily Garden.


Kids will enjoy bike decorating, games, emergency response presentations from local law enforcement and a parade.

Garden tells North Iowa News the participating businesses will provide city-wide activities.


McDonald’s business office will use their employees to ensure safety for kids throughout the event.

Garden calls Kid’s Day a ‘massive undertaking.’


Activities begin at 9:30, a parade follows and a lunch is available for low cost.
