Weather dampens firework shows, activities still scheduled for weeked

Charles City, Iowa – Rain dampened the hopes of firework enthusiasts Thursday night.  Showers moved into the area around 9:30 forcing city officials to postpone the yearly show in Charles City.

The fireworks will be held tonight at 10:00 with synced music from KCHA.

Despite morning rain chances, Mother Nature held out for the Independence Day parade.  Over 70 entries entered and the top floats were:

Dog Show to premiere Friday

America’s Hometown continues celebrating the Fourth of July weekend with several activities including an All-Star Dog Stunt Show today and tomorrow.

Chris Perondi’s All-Star Stunt Dogs has f ive 30-minute shows scheduled Friday  at 5:15 and 8 p.m. and Saturday 3 and 7p.m. in Central Park. A regular attraction at the Minnesota State Fair each year, the canine stars will amaze audiences with their back flips, handstands, big air stunts and tricks.

The dogs adopted out of pounds and shelters from across the country and turned into stars. Their mission is to promote the importance of pet adoption, spay and neutering, as well as to encourage people to be responsible pet owners.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
