Charles City native to retire from Navy after more than 30 years

Lemoore, California – A Charles City native has retired from the U.S. Navynafter more than 31 years.

Navy Master Chief Jeff L. Huemann, a 1986 Charles City graduate, served with the Chief of Carrier Air Wing Two at Naval Air Station in Lemoore, California.

As a Master Chief Avionics Technician, he took responsibility for eight attached squadrons, providing daily status and follow up with the Maintenance Control Officer and Production Division Supervisors of the USS Carl Vinson’s maintenance departments.

His workload supported eight squadrons with supply documents and personnel assets of more than 2,500 sailors.

Huemann’s accomplishments led to 7,985 sorties encompassing 33,945 safe flight hours, across two deployments encompassing over 300 days at sea.

Huemann’s spouse, Ronnie, and his father and mother, Terry and Connie Heumann, all reside in Charles City.
