Drug bust turns up ecstasy, marijuana in Chickasaw County

New Hampton, Iowa – A drug bust led to charges for four Michigan residents where law enforcement uncovered ecstasy, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s office says deputies make the stop just after 10:30 p.m. on the Avenue of the Saints after smelling a strong odor from inside the vehicle.

After searching, authorities recovered controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and cash.

As a result, 24-year-old Cody Oster of Grand Rapids, Charles Sanders, 23, of Grandville, 24-year-old Elias Rempalski of Freeport and Helena Sias, 21, of Grand Rapids were all charged with several drug charges, according to a report.

All are being held on bonds.

The traffic stop was part of the enforcement project funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
