Chickasaw County finds temporary solution to Environmental Health director dilemma

New Hampton, Iowa – The absence of an Environmental Health Director has stirred up contention in Chickasaw County.

That’s chairman of the board of supervisors Jacob Hackman who says the county’s temporary contractor for Environmental Health Services backed out last week.

The contract started after the county’s part time administrator left for vacation leaving residents with no director for over a week.

Hackman says the county was in “crisis mode.”

The supervisors did find a temporary solution.  The county approved an agreement with Howard County for emergency services until the vacancy can be filled.
