County officials urge patience on county roads

Charles City, Iowa – Floyd and Chickasaw County Engineer Dusty Rolando continues to urge patience when driving on country roads.

He gave an update at the Floyd County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday saying he’s never seen anything like it.

Rolando’s department has been adding rock to roads in both countyies.  In Floyd County along, there have been 144 loads to the northeast corner in a span of a week.

Rolando says they’re doing as much as they can.

Mother Nature has been Rolando’s enemy dumping rain nearly every week.  Any progress made, he says, makes them start over.

Rolado added this is the worst he’s seen in his career.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
