Main Street closures still on tap for Charles City residents

Charles City, Iowa – With impending closures on one of Charles City’s southerly arterial roads, City Administrator Steve Diers says he’s asking drivers to take note of new routes if accessing South Main Street.

The closing is part of several projects according to Diers.  The city is beginning work on an asphalt overlay project, adding sidewalks and fixing storm drainage issues.

Diers says the closures are behind schedule but will still happen from Highway 14 south to 11th street.

He added another detour would be to take Highway 14 west towards Cambrex and Zoetis before utilizing Quail Street to 11th street.

North Grand to 11th street is also an option to access the Floyd County Medical Center.

He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them.
