Charles City – Starting at 12:01 on Friday, Iowa’s Sales Tax Holiday will commence and most years gathers the attention of mothers and fathers who need to back-to-school shop for their children. However, it is important to know what this holiday encompasses. Ben Mahloch, Charles City K-Mart manager, says that the deal runs until Saturday night and can only be used on clothing and footwear up to $100.
Even though this weekend is packaged as a state-wide back-to-school sale, kids will not be able to purchase their school supplies tax-free. Dixie Schneider of Charles City says that is ridiculous.
Mahloch, encourages people to utilize this holiday and get what they need for the coming school year and beyond.
The Iowa Sales Tax Holiday runs from midnight Friday to midnight Saturday. The Charles City K-Mart will be running this sale as soon as they open their doors Friday morning.
