New Hampton set to welcome students to new middle school

New Hampton, Iowa – New Hampton’s multi-million dollar middle school addition to the district’s high school is ready for students when they kickoff the 2019 school year tomorrow.

Principal Matt Manson says it’s been a long time coming.

The addition attached to the high school and has two levels.  Manson says the design is tailored towards creativity and collaboration.

Classrooms are designed to be movable according to Manson who says they’re purposely built that way.

He adds the reason they’ve branded their building with collaboration and interaction is because they’ve received feedback from employers.

Manson adds there will be finishing touches over the next couple of days as students enter.  The competition gym and cafeteria is not finished. An open house was held last night, but a grand opening is scheduled after all construction is done.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
