Chickasaw County moves toward designs for radio communications project

New Hampton, Iowa – Chickasaw County’s 3.25 million dollar radio communications project, aimed at better helping disseminate information with law enforcement is closing in on the design phase.

The board of supervisors received an update Monday morning from Emergency Management Director Jeff Bernatz who says the county has found all tower sights.

One tower will be constructed on the north end of the county, other towers can be used near Lawler, Nashua and Fredericksburg.

According to county officials, some of the towers will be used on city water towers.

The county is waiting for all parties to sign contracts for use of land and towers before specifications will be drawn up and bids sent out.

He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
