Possible to see northern lights in northeast Iowa this weekend

Charles City – For the fan of the unusual, you may be able to glimpse the Northern Lights this weekend. Meteorologist, Clint Aegerter says the sky-show could float close enough to Charles City for us to take a look.

However, Aegerter warns it could be too cloudy this weekend to decipher where these lights are shining. He suggests bringing a camera with long exposure capabilities.

The Northern Lights are known for their yearly appearance in the north, Aegerter explains why Iowans could even see this happening.

Tonight and Saturday have the largest chance of Northern Light occurrences, keep an eye on the sky over those two days.
