Known author speaks to Charles City group about the Titanic in Iowa

Charles City, Iowa – A state-wide author spoke about her work tying Iowa and the infamous Titanic together Thursday night at the annual Floyd County Historical Society Dinner.

Author Darcy Malsby says it’s taken her two years to craft a story on how Iowa has ties to the sip

She says she’s used several resources to compile information and first-hand accounts.

Coined as “Iowa’s Storyteller,” Malsby has written many books about the history of the state such as the KKK involvement and  Harry Truman’s presidential campaign.

She says it doesn’t matter what subject she’s writing about, but the state is missing a storyteller.

Malsby made her comments Thursday at the yearly Historical Society meeting in Charles City.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
