Waterloo man in custody after high speed chase in Chickasaw County

Fredericksburg, Iowa – A Waterloo man is in custody after he led authorities on a high speed chase in Chickasaw County Thursday.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s office says 31-year-old Johnny Lee Harris attempted to visit an address where he was in violation of a no-contact order in Fredericksburg.  Deputies attempted to arrest him, but Harris fled by vehicle.

A report says officers deployed a tire deflation device, which led the vehicle to come to a stop and officers apprehended Harris without incident.

Harris is charged with interference of official acts, violating a non-contact order, eluding and not having a driver’s license.

Lee was also wanted on outstanding warrants for domestic abuse assault and displaying a dangerous weapon.
