Election day November 5th in Charles City: Here is what you need to know

It is the eve of election day in Floyd County, and soon Charles City will know its two newly elected school board members, as well as, three city council members. Both races include one incumbent each and will be decided tomorrow when the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. In order to vote in person today, one can still walk into the County Auditor’s office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Ballot for City Council:
Incumbent Keith Starr
Phillip Knighten, a tax accountant
Phoebe Pittman, a Charles City middle school teacher
Craig Hamm, a custodian
Ann Teeter, a housewife
Two other incumbents whose terms are expiring, Michael Hammond and Dan Mallaro, have opted not to run again.
Ballot for School Board:
Robin Macomber, the only incumbent and the current school board president
Janiece Bergland, a retired music teacher
Pat Rottinghaus, a retired school counselor
Incumbent Jason Walker has chosen not to run again.
The election results will be distributed on the Floyd County Auditor’s Facebook page as they roll in and reported on KCHA.
Both the school and the city, will have extended hours tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
