Charles City election results (school board, city council)

Election day is wrapped and the results are in in Floyd County. 

In the city council race, there were three open seats and five candidates:

Keith Starr, the only incumbent of the race received the most votes at 764 which equates to 23.41%, snagging the first seat – and being granted a 3rd term on the council. The second seat was taken by middle school teacher Phoebe Pittman, with 23.22% only 6 true votes behind Starr. And the final seat went to accountant Phillip Knighten, with nearly 22% of the pie. 

Both Craig Hamm and Ann Teeter, sponged up 655 and 366 votes respectfully, but will not join the council as members.

Pittman and Knighten, will be taking over for Michael Hammond and Dan Mallaro who both didn’t seek reelection.

The school board had two open seats and three candidates:

Robin Macomber, the current school board president of the Charles City school system, was thwarted another term by retired music teacher, Janiece Bergland and retired school counselor, Pat Rottinghaus, having both receiving 35% of the vote.

Rottinghaus and Bergland, will replace Macomber and Jason Walker.
